PAUL'S ANALOG STORIES

My novelette "Shotgun Seat" appeared in the July/August 2008 issue of Analog magazine. (It received an Honorable Mention in the prestigious anthology The Year's Best Science Fiction, 26th Edition.)
The main characters are trucker Claude Dremmel and his electronic assistant Doll Box, along with robotics expert Alice Owen.

It was on the shelf in numerous book stores and newsstands.

A big thanks to Overdrive magazine for a fine review of this story.
The story's 'interior art' illustration was done by Mark Evans. He did a fantastic job of depicting the key scene.

"Shotgun Seat" was reprinted in the March 2009 issue of Esli, the premier Russian language science fiction magazine.

The Russian Cyrillic title is МЕСТО ДЛЯ СТРЕЛКА, which (the original English being ideomatic jargon) translates to something like "The Seat of the Shooter." The following text explains, "Unlike during pioneer times, nobody gets shot."

My story "Rule Book" appeared in the March 2011 issue of Analog magazine. (No interior art, for this story, however being named on the cover is even better.)

It was available in major book stores, and is perhaps still on line from

"Crooks" appeared in the June 2012 issue of Analog.
It's the third story in this series, fourth if you count "Journey," which takes place later in the plot's 'internal' timeline.

"Silent Mode" appears in the December 2012 issue of Analog.
It's the fourth story in this series, fifth if you count "Journey," which takes place later in the plot's 'internal' timeline.

My flash fiction Probably Zero story "All Too Human" appeared in the December 2014 issue, and another PZ story titled "Margin of Error" appears in the Jan/Feb 2018 issue. (Similar stories appear in some Yard Dog Press anthologies, listed on the linked main fiction page.)

Note! Analog and its sister Dell magazines are now available in a variety of digital formats, for subscriptions and as individual issues.
